TOM HUTCHINSON (DRUMS)

Born 1957, yes 57. First musical influence must have been cream. Then I heard paul rodgers and free I can remember being in my mates house (john hawksby) alias jock. Donít know why he was called jock. We used to listen to his brothers full cream album on the radiogram. Then we decided to become musicians.Jock on bass, myself on drums. this must have been around 1969. We started with one song at our school concert "coxhoe modern school".The song was" you've got a friend by james taylor."

In 1974 we formed a very successful showgroup called "sundown" 1st. Picture the band were together until about 1977. After the break up of sundown I decided to sell my kit ,which was a five piece see through kit made by hollywood. I thought it was time for a break.
In the mid eighties I got the itch, and bought a five piece set of tama.and started working on the club scene backing various artists mainly working with trioís . Once again sold them as I thought that I would never fancy the old routine again (in from work jump in the car hug gear up loadís of stairs, set it up,take it down, jump in car,put gear away, then into bed and up for work .

Then in 2003 I got the itch. I bought a set of gretsch (the kit I always longed for) tried a few projects with various musicians, but nothing seemed to work out. Then I teamed up with Tom Armstrong .We joined a band called Far Cry (a great bunch of people)but the spark was not there,so after working with quite a few musicians (thanks to all of you) free spirit was formed. Up to now it has been hard work, but we enjoy every minute of it, and we canít wait to share the experience with you.
